Biography
Tyler Young is a sophomore from Montgomery County, MD, studying Computer Science at the University of Maryland. As a computer science major, his interests lie in coding and mathematics, though he also has a lot of experience as a singer and a deep interest for music in general. He also has delved into the technical side of music and music production, which has served as a blend of his computer science and musical backgrounds. He has been a part of many choirs, including the University of Maryland's university chorale, and also is a member of UMD's world music acapella group, Ethnobeat. His hobbies also include several outdoors activities, such as hiking and biking, and he enjoys taking photographs of scenery from his experiences.

Tyler has completed his first year as a College Park Arts Scholar, and he hopes to continue with his interests, especially in music production, which he explored in his music production Scholars workshop last year. His goals in the program are mainly to advance his understanding and knowledge of music, as well as to create a synthesis of his strengths in music. Academically, he wishes to pursue a master's degree in computer science, and to gain insight on how to help the world with the skills he has.
